Making the Most of Boxing Day

We are on the home stretch towards Christmas, not only will we be hungry for some delicious dinners and quality time with our loved ones, but as insatiable consumers in today’s world, we will have one eye on Boxing Day sales. I’ve created a guide to help you make the most of the day:

Prioritise and plan

Look at what brands and products you’re after, and rank them based on priority. Purchase from the brands that you know will sell through quickly. Also, find out the trading hours of stores, so you’re aware of which stores you should go to.

Try on your wishlist pre-Christmas

If you get the chance, go in-store and have a first-hand look of the items you’re after. See them in the flesh, try them on and see if it fits with your style and wardrobe. Many brands will do storewide offers and others will do selected styles. When Boxing Day rolls in, and if your desired items are under promotion, you can purchase these styles immediately online without waiting in the extensive fitting room queue.

Take advantage of early Boxing Day Sales

Some brands will try to get ahead of the competition and offer their promotion earlier, which is a similar tactic to Black Friday. This can also be used as a last-minute Christmas gift idea too.

Utilise free returns - If some brands/stores offer a simple and free returns service, take advantage of it. So if you’re undecided on some items or sizes, buy it and return what you don’t like. Online retailers such as The Iconic and Surfstitch are examples of a great returns service.

Some promotions will roll over to the next day

In recent years, many retailers continue their promotion for an additional day or two, so don’t stress if you miss out on Boxing Day. However, you May miss out on styles and sizes.

Dress comfortably

If you plan to go into the wild and compete with all the craziness, make sure you wear clothes that you can easily change out of.
